Daring Greatly…Starting with a Blog :)
For those of you who don’t know me, my name is Christy, wife, mom of two girls, physical therapist by trade, with a desire to further contribute to the world by sharing with others topics that fascinate and inspire me in hopes of bringing a little more goodness to your life.
If you know me, you probably know that I tend to be a little more reserved and quiet, at least until I know you well. This has been my greatest challenge since I decided I wanted to create my own coaching business, because I know in order to be a successful entrepreneur, it is vital to be self-confident, and willing to put yourself out there for all to see. And that makes me really uncomfortable because I prefer to keep my life more private. But my desire to follow my passion has won out over my reservations about exposing myself and my life.
I am starting out with a blog, even though it feels a little behind the times in 2024. So why am I writing a blog if I have no idea if anyone will actually read this? Because I decided that in order to be successful at exposing myself to the world via the internet, I need to do it on my terms and in small steps. My written communication is immensely better than my verbal communication. I often can’t verbalize what I’m thinking until I attempt to write it down. So although I know that many people out there prefer to consume information through podcasts or videos, starting out I have to go with what I know and am comfortable with, which is writing a blog.
Ultimately, I would love to be able to deliver a podcast! I am obsessed with listening to podcasts as a way to learn and consume information. But if I wait to start until I think I can do everything just the exact, certain, perfect way, I know I will never start.
So here's to me starting somewhere, putting myself out there via way of a blog! I have been journaling regularly for about 5 years (more on that to come), so the writing part is not difficult, but the sharing of myself with others is. But I know there are so many people who have amazing ideas that could better the world, that never get out because of fear. I don’t want that to be me! And I don’t want it to be you either! Let us be willing to put ourselves out there, accepting that it won’t be liked or agreed with by everyone, but that even if only one person if encouraged or inspired by our words, it is worth it!
